Cocktail of the Week: Freedom of Speech Edition

Image hosting by Photobucket

A Danish newspaper, it's been well documented, has upset parts of the world by publishing cartoons depicting the Muslim prophet Mohammed. Several Muslim-majority countries are now boycotting Danish goods. Free-speech supporters in the West (and presumably elsewhere) have rallied to counter the protests by buying Danish goods.

BaT has purchased Havarti, a wonderfully creamy delight and one of many famous Danish cheeses. But we haven't found Danish alcohol on our local shelves. There are a few Danish beers, but we try to stay away from beer here on such a high-class blog. So what to do, since nothing more would upset the Islamofascists than an American queer drinking booze.

We had to turn to the next best thing -- a drink with a Danish name. Tonight, BaT presents: The King of Denmark.

Ingredients

4 parts Pernod (OK, OK, it's French ...)
3 parts Ribena (blackcurrant flavor)
8-10 parts water

Instructions

Stir the Pernod and Ribena into a large glass pitcher, making as much as you need. Add several large ice cubes. Pour into glasses.

Drink while reading the First Amendment. Continue until you can no longer focus on the words.

Have a good weekend, y'all.
