You Know You Have Too Much Money When ...

... you can spend more than half a million dollars on a guitar.

An American collector has bought Paul McCartney's first acoustic guitar for 330,000 pounds ($614,000) at auction.

The guitar used by the former Beatle was bought by Craig Jackson at an auction at the Abbey Road Studios late Friday.

"This is such an important piece of rock history, and I am an extremely happy man tonight," Jackson said in a statement. "Without this guitar The Beatles may never have existed, and it is a fantastic acquisition."

The guitar actually was owned by a friend of McCartney, who is now selling it to fund his retirement. I either need to find a better class of friends or find a better class of junk in the attic, otherwise my retirement plan will depend on this guy coming just in the nick of time.
