Cocktail of the Week -- They're Everywhere EditionToday, we have a story that goes to show that inbred rednecks aren't confined to the South. In a reminder of wonderful family bliss, a son lays the smack down on the woman who gave birth to him over ...
American Idol (Hat tip:
Defamer):
For Cory K. Favreau of Plattsburgh, N.Y., an argument over 'American Idol' with his mom may have gone a little too far.
TMZ obtained the book photo of Favreau, who is facing felony charges for allegedly striking his mother in the head with a sharp object hooked to a bicycle chain.
Apparently the mother and son were discussing 'Idol' -- while drinking, according to court records -- when the mother, Jan M. Chagnon, told Favreau that Katharine McPhee would have a successful career despite losing in the finale to Taylor Hicks. Favreau then allegedly stood up, made a nasty comment to his mom and then struck her with the aforementioned object attached to a bicycle chain. This may be love in upstate New York, but that ain't how we treat our mamas in the South. In fact, we shy away from even drinking with them. This episodes reminds BaT of a story relayed by a friend visiting Portland, Ore. (we had to look it up, and yes, there is a state named Oregon ... and all this time we thought
Vince was making it up.)
This friend was at a gas station just outside of Portland when she saw a beat-up truck driven by a man who appeared to not own a shower. That, in of itself, isn't noteworthy. Nor is it noteworthy that he was cleaning his windshield with one of those
Squeegees you find at your local filling station. What is noteworthy, however, is he was cleaning the
inside of his windshield with said Squeegee -- at which point she turned to her father and said, "See? There
are rednecks everywhere."
So if you're sitting around getting hammered and watching bad reality TV, why not do it in style. Kick back and pour yourself another of this Cocktail of the Week: The White Trash.
