Cocktail of the Week -- Mother's Day Edition

They changed our diapers. They made us eat our veggies. They kissed our boo-boos. And, when it was all over, heaped guilt upon us for crapping our pants, for failing to realize there are starving children in China who wish they had broccoli and for hanging upside down on the monkey bars to start with.

Kidding, kidding.

What better way to celebrate Mother's Day than drinking? Preferably with dear ol' Mom, but if she's not around, that's OK, too. In this edition of Cocktail of the Week, let's turn to a recipe both you and Mommy Dearest can enjoy. It's weak enough to prevent you from thinking your mother is Karen Walker and strong enough to keep her from getting on your damn nerves the whole day.

So sit back and enjoy a slice (or 20) of Mom's Apple Pie.

Ingredients

2 1/2 oz. apple schnapps
1 tablespoon Hot Damn (or any other red cinnamon schnapps)
Ice

Instructions

Pour the apple schnapps over ice in a brandy sniffer. Float the Hot Damn on top.

P.S. And a special happy first Mother's Day to Armi. See her new post on motherhood with some cute photos of baby Lily.
