Painting The Country Red

The harsh light of the truth shines on the recent mass protests "to win 'full rights for undocumented workers.' " Not surprisingly the anti-communist Moonie Times is the media outlet reporting the connection between numerous Red organizations and the "populist" outpouring:

The Act Now to Stop War & End Racism (ANSWER) coalition, which organized the Los Angeles march to win "full rights for undocumented workers," is confident its new "national action" will prove successful.

ANSWER's steering committee includes the Free Palestine Alliance, the Partnership for Civil Justice, the Nicaragua Network, the Korea Truth Commission, the Muslim Student Association, the Mexico Solidarity Network and the Party for Socialism and Liberation. It denounces as racism attempts to criminalize illegal aliens.

A bill approved in the House, 239-182, would, among other things, increase immigration enforcement and border security, build a fence along 698 miles of the U.S.-Mexico border, make illegal entry a felony and penalize those who help illegals enter the United States.

The American Mind has more thoughts, which are in line with my previous comments on these hidden agenda "protests":

I now know the protests are organized by a group that hates freedom and calls you a racist if you oppose them. My sympathy is wearing thin, and I'm pretty liberal when it comes to immigration. Americans who think there are too many people coming into the country will reject the massive protests by anti-American, totalitarian sympathizers. That will only harden their stance pushing Congress to a more hardline position. A fence will go up, people will be deported, and businesses will be punished. ANSWER will blame racism when they should look in the mirror.

The continuing politicization of this topic will only harm those who come to this country seeking to work hard, seek freedoms and better their families -- the same reason our ancestors came here (in my case almost 250 years ago). Of course, the demagogues have never exactly cared about anyone but themselves.
