Cocktail of the Week -- The Fairer Sex Edition

Image hosting by Photobucket

One week and counting until St. Patrick's Day -- and the first anniversary of BaT. While celebrating the patron saint of Ireland, do not forget your womenly guests and friends. Irish women are tough and shant be scorned. From the famous pirate Grace O'Malley to Mary Jemison to Sandra Day O'Connor, the Irish ladies are able to belt back whiskeys with all the gents.

But some of our fairer sex need a lighter touch. Hence this week's cocktail: The Irish Lady.

Ingredients

1 oz. melon liqueur
3 oz. champagne
1 oz. orange juice

Instructions

Pour chilled champagne into a flute, about three-quarters full. Add liqueur and cold orange juice. Stir. The result is best descriped as a Melonball-flavored Mimosa.

Speaking of Irish women, let's close with this quote from Oscar Wilde's maid, as she testified in his sodomy trial:

"I think people should be allowed to do what they want, as long as they don't do it in the street and frighten the horses."

Cheers, m'ladies!
