Cocktail of the Week -- The Mrs. Hudson Edition

Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Remember that expensive bottle of Chambord raspberry liqueur you had to buy to make this cocktail? Well, now you have an excuse to break it out again.

Phyllis Gates, the talent agent's secretary who said she had no idea that Hollywood heartthrob Rock Hudson was gay when she married him after a whirlwind romance, died Jan. 4 of lung cancer complications. She was 80.

Which brings us to this week's alcoholic concoction: the Rock Lobster.

Ingredients

1 shot raspberry liqueur
1 shot Crown Royal (or your preferred Canadian whisky)
2 oz. cranberry juice

Instructions

Fill an old-fashioned glass with ice. Add rasberry liqueur and Crown Royal. Fill the rest of the glass with the cranberry juice.

So here's to you, Mrs. Hudson, the quintessential beard who handled it all with grace and class. The Chambord is the least that we can do. Cheers.
