Refusing To Move On

Jason remembers Matthew Shepard.

On October 7th (today), at 6:22 pm, some 18 hours after the attack, a cyclist discovered the young man, Matthew Shepard, still tied to the fence, after first mistaking him for a scarecrow. Shepard was unconscious and suffering from hypothermia. His face was caked with blood,... except where it had been partially washed clean by his tears. He died five days later.

Yet, several studies still suggest that college-age people are more likely to threaten or carry out attacks. In a survey of students around San Francisco, 18 percent admitted assaulting or threatening someone they presumed to be gay. (Near San Francisco!!!)

So, no.---I will not move on.

I will not forget.

Amen.
