Can Louisiana Impeach A Governor?

I haven't researched Louisiana law -- there's a thousand displaced attorneys from New Orleans (including several of my friends), let one of them do it -- but what grounds do the people of Louisiana need to force the impeachment of Gov. Kathleen Blanco?

New BaT commentor Jeff Blanco -- for those of you unfamiliar with Louisiana, Blanco is a fairly common name, so let's hope he's not related ... and if he is, she's really in trouble when her kin are this pissed -- links to a site calling for Blanco to be charged with malfeasance of office. There's a long list of supporting evidence. Thanks, Jeff, and come back soon.

UPDATE: In a comment on yesterday's post, Lady T referenced a state senator inspecting his house and rescuing personal items -- with help from the National Guard -- while his constituents waited on rooftops for rescue. The good news is it wasn't a state senator. The bad news is it was A UNITED STATES CONGRESSMAN ... the officially dishonorable William Jefferson, according to ABC News.

The water reached to the third step of Jefferson's house, a military source familiar with the incident told ABC News, and the vehicle pulled up onto Jefferson's front lawn so he wouldn't have to walk in the water. Jefferson went into the house alone, the source says, while the soldiers waited on the porch for about an hour.

Finally, according to the source, Jefferson emerged with a laptop computer, three suitcases, and a box about the size of a small refrigerator, which the enlisted men loaded up into the truck.

Two weeks later, the vehicle's tire tracks were still visible on the lawn.

Let me guess what's on that laptop and in that box. Do you think it has anything to do with that little federal investigation?

Bastard.
